The Heritage Hall

The original Community Hall was built in 1909 on the same site as the present hall. It had an upper floor that was used as the hall and the lower street level was divided into 4 spaces that served as the front for a variety of local businesses. The hall lasted until 1924 when it burnt down as the result of a fire started by careless cigarette smoking. The community pulled together and by 1928 the present hall was built. The kitchen area was added in 1948. Although the hall has had a number of renovations over the years it still exists for the most part in its original form. In 2002 the hall was declared a heritage site by the Township of Langley. The hall is operated by a non profit society and the long term preservation and effective community use of the hall are the primary objectives. The society extends a warm welcome to all users and you are welcome to join the society and become involved in the affairs of the hall.
